Become a Resident Assistant or Peer Mentor

The 2024-2025 Resident Assistant & Peer Mentor Selection Process


Applications for the 2024-2025 Resident Assistant (RA)/Peer Mentor (PM) positions will become available on October 9, 2023. 

For full consideration, all applicants MUST do the following:

  • Review the position descriptions on the Resident Assistant Position or Peer Mentor Position pages. 
  • Attend a required Student Staff Selection Information Session:
    • Friday, October 13th, 1:00 - 2:00 PM, Zoom (bit.ly/SSInfoSession1)
    • Wednesday, October 18th, 5:00 - 6:00 PM, SERC 116
    • Thursday, October 26th, 3:30 - 4:30 PM, Zoom (bit.ly/SSInfoSession2)
    • Wednesday, November 1st, 5:00 - 6:00 PM, SERC 116
    • Thursday, November 9th, 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Zoom (bit.ly/SSInfoSession3)
  • Complete the RA and/or PM application at my.housing.temple.edu under the "Employment" tab, by the deadline: November 12, 2023.

Information Sessions


All applicants must attend one (1) REQUIRED Information Session in order to be considered for a Student Staff position. 

Information Sessions are an opportunity to learn more about the position and the selection process. Information Sessions are scheduled for the following days:

  • Friday, October 13th
    • Time: 1:00 – 2:00 pm

  • Wednesday, October 18th
    • Time: 5:00 – 6:00 pm
    • Location: SERC 116
  • Thursday, October 26th
    • Time: 3:30 – 4:30 pm
    • Location: Zoom - bit.ly/SSInfoSession2
  • Wednesday, November 1st
    • Time: 5:00 – 6:00 pm
    • Location: SERC 116
  • Thursday, November 9th
    • Time: 3:00 – 4:00 pm
    • Location: Zoom - bit.ly/SSInfoSession3

Online Applications

To complete an application: 

  1. Log into MyHousing with your accessnet username and password.
  2. Click "Employment Application" in the top menu.
  3. Select the application for the position you are applying for.
    1. New applicants not serving as a current RA or PM at Temple should select the New application options
    2. Candidates are welcome to apply for both the RA and PM roles; however, candidates cannot actively hold both positions. 
  4. Begin the application which includes 3 pages:
    1. Eligibility Review & Understanding
    2. General Application Questions
    3. 3 Short Essay Questions
  5. Submit your application by the November 12, 2023 deadline.

Applications will not be accepted past the deadline. 


Next Steps

After submitting your  application, it will be evaluated by professoinal staff members in University Housing & Residential Life. If you are invited to participate in an individual interview, you will be notified in mid-January 2024, and interviews will be held in person in early February 2024. Hiring notices will be sent out prior to Spring Break 2024.
